Background - technology development

InSensor A/S was established in 2004 by Ferroperm Piezoceramics A/S and Consolidated Holdings A/S in order to commercially exploit piezoelectric thick film technology and the experience obtained during more than 10 years extensive research. January 2008 InSensor A/S and Ferroperm Piezoceramics A/S were acquired by MEGGITT PLC and in July 2009 InSensor A/S was merged with Ferroperm Piezoceramics A/S. Piezoelectric thick film components, based mainly on PZT compositions, can be deposited and processed on a variety of substrates, incl. silicon, stainless steel, alumina and our proprietary ceramic substrates with exceptional acoustic properties, opening for full integration in device design, thus simplifying assembling and reducing cost. The goal is to, in close cooperation with our customers, further develop and optimise the next generation of piezoelectric devices. We are committed to assist our customers at the design, development and up-scaling stages, through the complete process of bringing innovative devices to the market. We also continue the tradition of extensive engagement in international R&D projects to include new environmentally sustainable materials in our thick film program.
