Single element high frequency transducers

InSensor®'s technology is a perfect solution for manufacturing high-frequency, high-bandwidth transducers due to very unique properties of the acoustically engineered substrates (backing material) and the PZT thick films. The basic properties of the structures are:

  • Low acoustic impedance
  • Low dielectric constant (easy electrical matching)
  • High frequency - above 20 MHz (thickness mode of the film)
  • Extreme bandwidth (up to 150 %) and sensitivity

InSensor®'s high frequency transducers have an outstanding bandwidth, indicated by a short (single cycle) pulse/echo response. An example of a typical pulse/echo response is given in the figure below.

An additional outstanding feature of InSensor®'s technology is the possiblity of making focused transducers, using curved substrates. This dramatically increases the lateral resolution of the transducers.

Our company is also offering a number of proctecting coatings, assuring a very good acoustical matching and also waterproofing. Some of the coatings are FDA approved.

Annular and phased arrays on porous or silicon substrates

The PZT thick film technology is not limited only to single element devices. Our technology has already been applied in fabrication of multi-ring annular array transducers with pre-focusing. Additionally our PZT thick films have been applied in the manufacturing of pMUT tansducers due to the compatibility with the standard MEMS technology.
