Thick films

The technology offered by InSensor® is the integration between ceramic PZT thick films and various substrates. The know-how is related to the compatibility between the substrates the electrodes and the active film. The substrates that we have focused on so far are used in many applications in for example in the electronics industry:

  • Silicon: used in MEMS applications
  • Alumina: a popular and inert substrate in the electronics industry
  • Porous ceramic: used for high frequency transducers due to the acoustic properties of the material
  • Stainless steel: low-cost substrate with mechanical properties suited for certain applications
  • LTCC: highly versatile technology which is used for packaging solutions and for devices working in harsh environments

Due to many years of experience with materials and processes, InSensor® may also be able to integrate the PZT thick film technology with other substrates when the specific challenges associated to a new task call for it.
